Vast, quiet, attentive

• There is no horizon, so distance has to be guessed. Visitors consistently guess wrong.
• Light arrives without a source and lands on one side of things only.
• Structures hang at rest with nothing above or below them, and do not drift.

Noticed, not explained

• Sound does not carry, but frens still lower their voices.
• Objects dropped here return. Not immediately, and not always to the same hand.

How frens change here

Traits arrive fully formed rather than developing. A fren is one thing, and then it is another, with no observable stage in between.

Frens face outward. Left alone they arrange themselves in a loose ring around whatever is newest, all looking away from it.
