What is a fren?
A fren is anyone who touches your egg. Not a follower, not a contact, just someone who opened your Fren Link and tapped the thing.
Your Loop is everyone who started their own egg because of you, and everyone who started because of them.
How do eggs hatch?
Every egg needs Loop Energy. Each new fren who touches it adds one. A fren only counts once, so asking the same person twice does nothing.
When the egg is full, a Hatch button appears. What comes out is decided at that moment, not before.
What decides which Loopy Fren I get?
Your egg has genes, and they move based on what happens to it: how many frens touch it, how quickly, how far the link travelled, which Realm you were wearing. Those genes weight the outcome.
It is not random and it is not chosen, it is grown. Two players with the same number of frens can hatch completely different creatures.
How do mutations work?
Mutations are separate from the creature itself. They are rolled independently, which is why a common Fren can carry a rare mutation and a rare Fren can carry none.
Some come from genes crossing a threshold. Some come from completing rituals. Some have conditions we are not going to explain.
Do I need a wallet?
No. Eggs, hatching, Realms, your Loop, the collection and sharing all work with no wallet and no crypto.
A wallet is only needed for rituals, optional shrine events that let you make a contribution in exchange for gameplay rewards. Your Fren does not need them to grow.
Can I play without crypto?
Yes, completely. Nothing in the core loop touches a blockchain. If you never connect a wallet you will still hatch, collect, grow a Loop and share your Loop with anybody you like.
How do rituals work?
You find a place in a Realm, read what it wants, and choose how much to offer. Before anything is signed you are shown exactly what you give, what you receive, and what FrenLoop takes.
Your wallet then asks you to approve it. Rewards are granted only after the transaction is confirmed on-chain, never on the app's word.
What happens if my wallet disconnects?
Nothing is lost. If it disconnects before you sign, no transaction was created and nothing left your wallet.
If it disconnects after you signed, the transaction may still confirm, FrenLoop checks the chain, not your session, so your reward is granted whenever it lands. Reopen the page and it will be there.
Can I change Realms?
Yes, whenever you like, from the Realm selector. The Realm you are wearing changes how everything looks, which places you can visit, and it influences what hatches, so it is worth switching before a hatch if you are chasing something specific.
Is FrenLoop free?
Yes. There is nothing to buy, no subscription and no paid advantage. The only money that ever moves is a ritual you choose to perform, and you are shown the exact amount before you approve it.
How does sharing work?
Every player has a Fren Link. Anyone who opens it can touch your egg. Share it however you like, the share button uses your phone's own share sheet on mobile, and offers the major platforms on desktop.
Each share generates a card image showing your egg's progress. Those are made from pre-drawn artwork; nothing is generated by AI when you share.
Someone shared a link with me. Is it safe to tap?
Yes. Touching an egg does not require an account, a wallet, an email or a permission. It sets one anonymous cookie so the egg knows it has already met you.
